The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot program is developed with community involvement and aims to extend the advantages of economic immigration to smaller towns. It provides a route to obtaining permanent residency for skilled foreign workers who wish to both work and reside in one of the communities participating in the program.

There are 4 steps to applying for permanent residence under this pilot.
Qualifying work experience or international studies
The English or French language requirement depends on the TEER category of thecandidate’s qualifyingwork experience:
